Programs to Reduce Standby Power

There are over twenty government programs around the world trying to reduce standby power and it's difficult to keep track what products are covered and at what levels. Power Integrations has a list that is usually current.

In 2009 the most important developments are likely to emerge from

  • The European Commission (the EcoDesign Directive)
  • The U.S. Government (through the Department of Energy and Energy Star)
  • The Government of Australia (Dept. of Environment)
  • The Government of Korea (Korea Energy Management Corporation)

But new initiatives from China, Japan, and Brazil are also possible.
